Soo Tamil Association - சூ தமிழ்ச் சங்கம் சூ தமிழ்ச் சங்கம் கனடாவின் சூ செயிண்ட் மேரி (Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario) பகுதியில் அமைந்துள்ள ஒரு இலாப நோக்கற்ற அமைப்பாகும். இது அங்குள்ள தமிழ் சமூகத்தினரை ஒன்றிணைத்து, தமிழ் மொழி, கலாச்சாரம், பாரம்பரியம் ஆகியவற்றைப் பாதுகாக்கவும், கொண்டாட்டங்களை நடத்தவும் உதவுகிறது. பல நாடுகளிலும் 'தமிழ்ச் சங்கம்' என்ற பெயரில் தமிழ் சமூக அமைப்புகள் இருந்தாலும், " சூ " என்ற முன்னொட்டுடன் இது சூ செயிண்ட் மேரி நகரத்தைக் குறிக்கிறது. முக்கிய அம்சங்கள்: இடம்: கனடாவின் சூ செயிண்ட் மேரி (Sault Ste. Marie). நோக்கம்: தமிழ் சமூகத்தினருக்கு ஒரு பொதுவான தளத்தை வழங்குதல், மொழி மற்றும் கலாச்சாரத்தைப் பரப்புதல். செயல்பாடுகள்: தமிழ் பண்டிகைகள், இலக்கிய நிகழ்ச்சிகள், கலாச்சார நிகழ்வுகள் போன்றவற்றை நடத்துதல். What began in 2018 as a small group of Tamil families in Sault Ste. Marie has blossomed into a registered not-for-profit organization, officially incorporated under the Societies Act of Ontario in 2024. Our founding members hail from diverse corners of the world — India, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Singapore, and beyond — united by a shared love for Tamil heritage and the desire to build a strong, supportive community in Canada. The Soo Tamil Association is dedicated to preserving and promoting the Tamil language, arts, and traditions through inclusive programs, cultural celebrations, and educational initiatives. We strive to support newcomers, foster intergenerational bonds, encourage community service, and provide spaces for artistic expression — all while creating a welcoming environment where Tamil identity flourishes within a diverse Canadian society. To build a vibrant, united Tamil community in Sault Ste. Marie that celebrates its rich heritage, empowers future generations and thrives as a beacon of cultural pride, inclusivity, and lifelong connection.
