Vancouver Tamilians Society (VTS) Vancouver Tamilians Society (VTS) is a registered non-profit community organization based in the Province of British Columbia, Canada. The society is dedicated to promoting Tamil culture, language, traditions, and fostering unity among the Tamil community. Through inclusive, family-friendly programs and events, VTS provides a vibrant cultural and social platform that brings together individuals and families from diverse backgrounds. VTS plays an active role in preserving and celebrating Tamil heritage while encouraging participation from all age groups, with a strong focus on youth engagement and community involvement. Founder & President Vancouver Tamilians Society was founded by Sowmya , who continues to serve as its Founder and President. The inspiration for the organization emerged in the summer of 2022, when her mother, Pushpa , shared a heartfelt dream of uniting Tamil families in Canada to celebrate their culture and traditions together. Motivated by this vision, Sowmya transformed the idea into reality by officially establishing Vancouver Tamilians Society in November 2023. Since then, the society has grown into a meaningful community platform centered on connection, celebration, and togetherness. Areas We Serve Vancouver Tamilians Society serves Tamilians across the Greater Vancouver and Fraser Valley regions, including: Vancouver, Burnaby, Richmond, Surrey, Delta, New Westminster, Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Port Moody, Maple Ridge, Pitt Meadows, Langley City, Township of Langley, White Rock, North Vancouver (City & District), West Vancouver, Abbotsford, Mission, and Chilliwack. Events & Activities VTS organizes and hosts a wide range of cultural, social, and recreational activities designed to strengthen community bonds and celebrate Tamil traditions.
