About This Event
On Saturday, October 31, 2026, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., physicians, healthcare professionals serving Tamil communities, community organizations and leaders gather at Scarborough Health Network's Centenary Hospital for a town hall on advancing mental health equity in Tamil communities, per the organizers' Eventbrite listing. The event is free and open to the public.
The program includes a presentation of a report created in partnership with Ontario Health outlining the current status, priorities and next steps for Tamil mental health; perspectives from physicians, community leaders and invited guests; a moderated discussion and question period; and an informal networking reception with light refreshments. For questions, the listing directs attendees to contact Dr. Sri Navaratnam.
The session takes place in the Dr. Bruce Johnston Conference Room on the hospital's third floor at 2867 Ellesmere Road, Toronto. The town hall is co-hosted by the Jaffna Medical Faculty Overseas Alumni Canada — the Canadian chapter of alumni of the University of Jaffna's Faculty of Medicine — together with Scarborough Health Network, one of the Toronto hospital systems serving the GTA's large Tamil community in Scarborough.
