About This Event

Ottawa Tamil Sangam presents Dheepa Thirunaal Kondattam 2026, its Deepavali celebration, on Sunday, November 1, 2026, from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. EST at Sacred Heart Catholic High School, 5870 Abbott St E, Stittsville, Ottawa.

The evening centres on a Grand Tamil Culture Fashion Show celebrating Tamil heritage and traditions through fashion — choreographed by Brinda Natarajan, founder and director of Gilded Glamour Co., with a professional makeup artist provided for the models — alongside music, dance and a dinner menu. The organizers describe the gathering as a celebration of the spirit of Deepavali with light, music and shared traditions.

Tickets are sold through Zeffy in member and non-member streams: $25 general admission, $10 for senior citizens 65 and older and for university students (student ID required at admission), free for children aged 5 and below. Performer registration is $20. There are no refunds after October 24, 2026. Volunteers are also required to buy tickets.

Ottawa Tamil Sangam is an Ottawa-based Tamil community organization — its Instagram bio describes it as the official page 'where we spread the culture and heritage of Tamil people in the city of Ottawa' — running local cultural events and fundraisers that support its mission of nurturing Tamil language, arts and community. In the lead-up to the kondattam it has been recruiting models for the fashion show and volunteers to help run the celebration.
